Calendar Events

Decembers meeting.  This is the meeting when Becca and I have scheduled to do the project presentations (prior to completion of project preference forms). IO has put out a wonderful Power Point presentation that I would like to present to the Vols and their parents at that meeting.  After the presentation, Becca and I thought it would be really nice if we could have the Vets set up a "project fair.". They could all set up a table with pictures, music, food, etc. from their projects, and the Vols and their families could wander from table to table and talk about the projects with the Vets.  When I was a volunteer, the project presentation night was a pot luck, and everyone gathered, filled their plates, and ate dinner while the presentations were going on. I get the feeling from the Board as well as parents that it would be wonderful to have a greater inclusion of parents in meetings, and this could be another way of accomplishing this. We could set up the buffet in the conference room at the Derby Center and do the presentation in the main room.

  I understand that the pot luck could be a bit confusing and chaotic, but here is the way I see it broken down:

• 6:30 - 6:45 Arrival, organize buffet

  • Group 2: Turn in fruit sale money/Family Payment/paperwork, go through buffet
    
• 7:00-7:15
  • Group 1: Turn in fruit sale money/Family Payment/paperwork, go through buffet

• 7:15-8:15 Power Point Presentation
• 8:15-9:00 Project Fair, questions, mingling
